Now in beta: Apple's new Audio Intelligence features can help you remember what someone said or take notes on conversations.
Apple's watchable AI features called "Audio Intelligence" are beginning beta testing. The technology includes four opt-in features: sound recognition for identifying important noises, song identification, Live Rewind for reviewing the last 15 seconds of conversation as text, and Siri Recaps for summarizing conversations into key points. The features matter because they demonstrate how Apple is attempting to add conversational recording capabilities to a wearable device while addressing privacy concerns that have surrounded similar products from other companies. Apple says the system processes audio through secure hardware and software layers on the watch and phone, with audio only accessible to the wearer and not stored by Apple itself.
