Aina launches smart ring to control AI agents

TechCrunch: Aina’s smart ring has a screen, a joystick and a mic so you can talk to AI agents

Aina's ring can also take calls and help you dictate notes on your Mac.

What happened

Hardware startup Aina released a smart ring with a screen, joystick, microphone, and speaker designed to let users interact with AI agents and control applications without taking out their phone. The ring can accept or reject AI agent actions, take calls, dictate notes, set reminders, and control devices through voice commands and gestures. It costs $399 for early-bird preorders starting in the near term, with shipping planned for January and a regular price of $499.

What each outlet adds
  • TechCrunch ↗: The ring works as a controller for both AI and non-AI apps and can control devices like Apple TV.
  • Wired AI ↗: The ring learns from a user's personal data like location, calendar, and email to suggest relevant actions at the right moments.
Why it matters

As AI agents become more proactive in completing tasks, constantly pulling out a phone to approve each action would create a bottleneck in how people interact with these systems. The ring addresses a growing market of specialized hardware designed for people using multiple AI agents.

Muse has a voice mode now

Meta now lets you have voice conversations with your Muse AI agent in real time, CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced today. The feature has been rolled out to me, and I gave it a spin on the iOS app while writing this article. As you chat with your Muse agent, the avatar at the top of your conversation animates in time with the words that it's saying. You can also change the tone of the voice by just asking your agent about what you want and letting it decide or by browsing through a
