Google releases Agile Deliberation framework for AI image classifiers

Google Research: Agile Deliberation: How AI helps humans define the gray areas

Data Mining & Modeling

What happened

Google Research has released Agile Deliberation, a human-in-the-loop framework designed to help build image classifiers for subjective concepts. The framework addresses situations where concept boundaries are unclear, such as identifying healthy food, inspiring artwork, or clickbait in content moderation. Unlike most existing tools that assume users already know where concept boundaries lie, Agile Deliberation helps users discover those boundaries.

What each outlet adds
  • Google Research ↗: Frames the work as showing how AI helps humans define gray areas.
  • MarkTechPost ↗: Specifies that the framework is human-in-the-loop and provides concrete examples of subjective concepts it addresses, including healthy food, inspiring artwork, and clickbait detection.
Why it matters

The framework addresses a gap in existing image classification tools by helping users identify and define concept boundaries for subjective categories rather than assuming those boundaries are already known.

As you chat with your Muse agent, the avatar at the top of your conversation animates in time with the words that it's saying. You can also change the tone of the voice by just asking your agent about what you want and letting it decide or by browsing through a
