The Agentic AI Foundation, a consortium maintaining open-source AI tools, added four new projects donated by major AI companies, bringing its total to 10 projects since launching last December. The new tools address practical challenges developers face: one provides standardized templates for AI model APIs so code can move between different providers without major changes, another packages AI skills in a consistent format for easier sharing, and two others manage sandbox environments used to train AI models. These contributions matter because developers currently struggle with vendor lock-in, as each AI provider uses different APIs that require extensive code rewrites to switch between, and standardized formats reduce inefficiency and errors like hallucinations in AI agents.

"Agents are starting to do real work on our behalf. The old model w

Mark Zuckerberg is barrelling toward a future in which an autonomous network of AI agents will run our lives - shopping for us, working for us, talking to other people's AI agents for us. Are humans ready for this very specific and unrelenting vision of a life in which we communicate primarily through bot proxies? Actually, don't answer that. The more urgent question coming off Meta's quarterly earnings call Wednesday night is more likely to be: "Is he?" Zuckerberg is staking M
